Boughton Heath Roundabout

Accidents are still occurring at the roundabout but the figures have improved a little since the centre lane was taken out and the entry lanes marked – actions which the local Focus Team supported . However our recent surveys show that there are still real concerns – in particular:- > The difficulty of getting out of Caldy Valley Road at peak times > The crossings sited too close to the roundabout for safety > No safe crossings on Caldy Valley Road or Whitchurch Road (east side) There are possible solutions. Traffic lights (either full or part-time) could be installed on the roundabout or, more drastically, the roundabout could be completely remodelled to be more like the Vicars Cross junction. Both of these would provide safe crossings for pedestrians at the junction and the latter might well also increase capacity.
