A Footbridge over the Dee?

Local Liberal Democrats have long wanted to see a pedestrian and cycle bridge across the Dee. It would provide a splendid route from Boughton Heath into town across the Meadows and, in the other direction, a walk along the banks of the river to Eccleston and beyond.

New Bus Shelter for Becketts Lane

Nearby residents have told Ann Farrell that the new Bus Shelter on Becketts Lane was well worth waiting for. It has taken Ann some time to assemble the money for the shelter and its regular maintenance - as well as sort out how not to damage the roots of the protected trees alongside.

Focus Team Street Surgeries

The Focus Team has held street surgeries in the Becketts Lane and Whites Meadow areas recently. Thank to those who brought issues to our attention and to those who have completed survey forms. The problem of dog fouling was raised several times and we have asked the City Council Dog Warden to pay some attention to our area. Please help by clearing up after your dog if you do not already do so.

Library Campaign Success

County Councillor SUE PROCTOR thanks everyone who signed our petition and wrote to County hall. Conservative budget proposals to close libraries were changed as a result of the massive response from local people after Liberal Democrats drew attention to the Tories' plans.

Free Bus Travel

People over 60 and those with disabilities can now get FREE bus travel after 9:30 am on weekdays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. They will be able to travel across Cheshire and into neighbouring areas. Chester residents with a bus pass can also travel free on the Park and Ride buses. Half fare will be payable before 9:30 am.
