Welcome to Boughton Heath Liberal Democrats
Boughton Heath is on the eastern side of Chester, between the Shropshire Union Canal to the north and the Caldy Brook to the south. The area has been represented on the City Council by Liberal Democrats for over twenty years. The councillors for this ward of the city are Ann Farrell and Jim Latham.
This area is also part of Great Boughton Parish Council, along with Vicars Cross ward. There are currently six Liberal Democrat Parish Councillors representing Boughton Heath.
The FOCUS team works all the year round to look after the interests of people living in Boughton Heath, and to keep them informed of local issues by delivering FOCUS to every home in the ward.

Local Liberal Democrats have long wanted to see a pedestrian and cycle bridge across the Dee. It would provide a splendid route from Boughton Heath into town across the Meadows and, in the other direction, a walk along the banks of the river to Eccleston and beyond.

Nearby residents have told Ann Farrell that the new Bus Shelter on Becketts Lane was well worth waiting for. It has taken Ann some time to assemble the money for the shelter and its regular maintenance - as well as sort out how not to damage the roots of the protected trees alongside.

The Focus Team has held street surgeries in the Becketts Lane and Whites Meadow areas recently. Thank to those who brought issues to our attention and to those who have completed survey forms. The problem of dog fouling was raised several times and we have asked the City Council Dog Warden to pay some attention to our area. Please help by clearing up after your dog if you do not already do so.

| Quotes of the Week |
|
"Liberalism in Britain has lost a great champion, the Liberal Democrats, a great advocate and our public life, a great servant. "
Lord Paddy Ashdown
In memory of Lord Richard Holme, who died on 5 May
"If the Tories want to claim that they are going to cut corporation tax, they have to come clean about how they are going to pay for it. Cutting the main rate of corporation tax to 25% will cost more than £5bn a year. If David Cameron is to have a hope of sounding credible he must state clearly where the money will come from. Otherwise this will be seen as yet another unfunded tax cut. "
